Fall

Late summer and fall offer other distinct flavors to savor.  Since we are an island, the summer warmed ocean keeps our days warm and bright well into October.  During the cool season, our temperature is consistently up to 10 degrees warmer than the mainland – a welcome respite as we approach the cold weather!  During late summer, after Labor Day, and into the fall, we offer great shoulder season values for stays at the Brass Lantern.

The main events in this season are the Nantucket Arts Festival, Nantucket Restaurant Week, and the Harvest Festival.  You can watch a sheep shearing at the Old Mill, see cranberries being harvested and enjoy cranberry treats, or join in and vote for the best chowder on Nantucket at the Harvest Festival Chowder Contest under the tent at the bottom of Main Street.

The theme of great values during this shoulder season continues with Nantucket Restaurant Week.  During Restaurant Week, you will enjoy multiple course prix fixe meals at our numerous and popular restaurants.  So join the rest of us foodies and take advantage of this opportunity to savor great food at great prices!
