Spring
From late March until mid May, Nantucket offers “hosts of golden daffodils…”, long bike rides along our miles and miles of bike paths, and walks along the beach. Waking up from its wintry slumber, the Town is abuzz with activity – cartons of new inventory stacked up outside of shops and flower boxes and window boxes being festooned with new blossoms. Enjoy great value during this shoulder season with a stay at the Brass Lantern.
Our Daffodil Festival in late April offers an antique car parade with over 100 pristine antique cars all decorated in daffodil themes. The parade winds on out to Sconset along the eight mile parade route for tailgate picnics that range from the simple to unbelievably elegant! Daffodils begin to bloom in late March, sometimes peeking up through the snow, and last well into May.
The Nantucket Wine Festival takes place in mid-May with dozens of wine related events – lectures, seminars, cooking demonstrations, auction, wine dinners and culminates in the Grand Tastings, which take place twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday. The Grand Tasting take place at the Nantucket Yacht Club, just one block from the Brass Lantern.
