Summer
The summer season begins with Memorial Day and the Figawi Race, but early season values are available for midweek stays through the end of June! During the summer, the beaches are a main attraction and Nantucket offers a wide variety from serene and untouched at Dionis and Steps Beaches to the wild and turbulent surf beaches at Madaket or Surfside. Take along a packed picnic to our of our more remote beaches or enjoy a day at our most popular family beach, the Jetties, with full food service, lockers, rest rooms and rentals. The NRTA shuttle that stops at the corner of our street will whisk you to The Jetties in just a few minutes or rent a bike and find your way to one of our more remote beaches.
Summer also offers two outstanding events, the Pops Concert at Jetties Beach in mid August which draws about 8000 people and the Opera House Cup Sailboat Race is also in August with its rainbow sail parade around Brant Point, easy walking distance from the Brass Lantern.
If you want eco-focused activities, check out the Maria Mitchell Associations summer programs for adults, children and families. If physical challenges are your idea of a good time, see what Strong Wings has to offer!
